Clear from the start - cop killers are not supported by me.
This article was not about cops. It was giving somewhat of an insight into the mind/life of this cop killer. I found it to be an interesting read.

DParks, in my opinion NO excuses are acceptable for killing a law enforcement officer in this manner. Physical illness, mental illness, nothing.
In fact, the murder of ANY human being is not acceptable to me.
The end, from this end, regarding the subject of murder.
Now, as to the subject of "analyzing" murderers, I believe that to be quite healthy. It's possible, perhaps remotely, that the more society knows about the mindset of murderers (or those who commit suicide, etc.) the more likely the possibility that someone will bring potential situations to the attention of proper folks - and avoid some of this. YES, I would call law enforcement on you if you and I were together and you started talking about how you were planning to kill someone, or yourself. Yes, I would do the same if a brother or child of mine did likewise. And - I would hope that someone, anyone, would see that I was stopped if it appeared that I was going off the deep end. Yes, I believe it to be healthy to learn all we can about mental illness and related of those who commit horrible acts. Not arguing - this time - just "splaining" myself.
Oops, back to the specific cop-killing incident. I betcha $100 to a doughnut that IF someone, at least the right someone, knew this cop-killer well enough to understand the real potential of what was to happen, then that someone would have taken action. I'd also betcha that a number of people would have been willing to join together to pay for mental health care for the individual IF they strongly believed that their failure to do so would result in what did happen.
