As summer time (unofficially) comes to an end after Labor Day weekend, Alcoa is planning on dropping the lake to 14 feet below "optimum operating level" starting September 15. Not the best time of year to do this, but then, when does ALCOA care about lake residents and others that enjoy going to the lake before Summer officially ends late in September. Also, Autumn is a great time to enjoy the lake due to the fishing and turning of the leaves. I guess doing whatever they need to do would be IMPOSSIBLE to do during the winter months, or some time starting in late October. At any rate, here is the link to the story.
